Just a quick note about the Spring trip. hotels are not yet firm but I wanted to get the dates out so you can set up your vacation time off. Generally this will be a rolling trip not staying long in any one place. We will be leaving March 13 returning March 21. The general route will be to travel the first 100 miles of the Natchez Trace spend the night in Clinton Mississippi Tour the only petrified forest East of the Mississippi then on to Hot Springs AR. where we will spend a couple of days then on to Harrison where we will spend some time stopping at Magazine Mt., Mt. Nebo, and Push Mt. Heading up toward Eureka Springs we will take the Arkansas Dragon on our way staying in Eureka for a while riding around then heading back toward home down the pig trail to Rich Mt. and Queen Wilhelmina/OK HWY 1 arriving back on the 21st. As soon as I get all the details worked out I will post them. Just reserve the dates now so you can join us for some great locations and riding.
Saturday ride March 13, the club is starting the spring trip to a place where the BBQ is inferior to ours here in Texas. For those of us being left behind, we’re going for great BBQ at Kreuz in Lockhart! We’ll meet in the parking lot next to the Shell station by Republic, on the corner of 59/69 and Kirkwood @ 0730 with KSU at 0800. We’ve got a rest break n LaGrange (about 50 miles in) and a fuel stop / rest break at about 137 miles in. Please note: We’re not meeting at Republic, even though the route name implies that! Kruez Mkt PDF kreuz Mkt GPX We should arrive at Kreuz between 1215 and 1230. The ride is about 170 miles total. It’s a one way ride that ends at Kreuz: Everyone can stay and gorge as much BBQ (and beer) as they want, but you’ll have to find your own way back home…”
